Our Story
Our owners and captains are originally from the Lake Norman area or have called Lake Norman home for over 30 years. We know the ins and outs of this lake and believe that time spent on the water is time well spent.
We created Sunstar Charters of Lake Norman with that passion for sharing the fun and beauty of our home, Lake Norman, with others. Our mission is to provide an exceptional charter experience on picturesque Lake Norman.

Our 53’ houseboat, Loose Change, features:
Main level:
- High-top tables with 3 stools each,
- Kitchenette and catering staging area,
- Changing room where you can leave your belongings,
- A private bathroom,
- Outdoor sofa, chairs, ottoman, and coffee table on the front deck, and
- A full canvas enclosure that is easy to roll up and down depending on guest needs and weather.
Top deck:
- Under the hardtop, there is a built-in L-shape lounge sitting area, a bar area with two beverage refrigerators, and 7 bar stools.
- Two built-in chaise lounges near the front of the deck are perfect for taking in the view and soaking up the sun.
- Or choose to kick back on the sofa, gliders, and chairs located at the rear of the deck.
- Getting hot? Take a shortcut to cool off in the lake using the water slide!
- There is a modern sound system that links the top and main deck speakers together.
With stunning panoramic views from every angle, you’ll be able to relax and unwind in style.
With custom itineraries, furniture may be moved around or taken off to accommodate event tables and chairs for an event or party with advance notice.
